a TikTok Shop picnic
Introduction
It was a beautiful day, perfect for an outdoor picnic, so we decided to try some of the most viral snacks from TikTok. As we sat down to taste these treats, we couldn’t help but discuss our less-than-ideal outfits as gamer girls. The suits were eating into us, making it uncomfortable to relax.
Despite the awkward attire, the excitement for sampling viral snacks overshadowed our discomfort. Among our haul were a bizarre assortment of treats, including something called a “Skittles drink,” which didn't seem real at all. The snacks looked as if they were concocted by fourth-graders.
We kicked things off with the freeze-dried Skittles. Both thrilled yet cautious, we were pleasantly surprised when we tasted them; the sour variety tasted intriguing, almost like a nostalgic childhood candy experience. We also had apple pie pops, which had potential but ultimately fell flat due to their dry texture.
Next up was cheese ramen, an experience neither of us had encountered before. However, the idea of cheese-flavored ramen didn’t sit well with one of us, and when it came to the taste test, it didn't prove to be a culinary winner — the excess water in the bowl only compounded the issue.
Our tasting adventure turned somewhat chaotic when we tried freeze-dried Oreos. The mess was ridiculous, and while they didn’t taste great, they were still an experience we wouldn't forget. Flavors danced wildly, but nobody could pinpoint what they were actually eating at times.
Moving on to the Snickers spread, the gooey blend of chocolate and peanuts was a highlight, with many declaring it comparable to Nutella.
Among the other items sampled were Twinkies, which tasted oddly reminiscent of vape juice, and ketchup Cheetos from Canada, which offered a delightful taste.
The snack adventure wrapped up with breakfast cup noodles — an outrageous combination of maple syrup, pancake, sausage, and eggs. The experience was surreal, leaving us both uncertain about whether we were eating breakfast or ramen.
Overall, we agreed that while the TikTok snacks were great to try out, most were not something we’d want to buy again. They were enjoyable for a taste but didn’t hold up as regular snacks you’d want in your pantry!
