TikTok Launches Support Black Businesses Initiative
TikTok has launched Support Black Businesses, an online hub that provides Black entrepreneurs with information about TikTok's ongoing partnerships and initiatives that promote awareness, support, and patronage of their businesses. This initiative aims to address the economic disparities faced by Black entrepreneurs and promote inclusivity in entrepreneurship.
To further support Black-owned businesses, TikTok is introducing the #ShopBlack campaign. Starting on November 10th, the TikTok community will be encouraged to participate in the #ShopBlack hashtag challenge by creating videos that highlight their favorite Black-owned businesses or by sharing their own stories as Black entrepreneurs.
The Support Black Businesses website will feature over 40 Black Shopify merchants from the US and Canada, allowing the TikTok community to explore their businesses and products through the #ShopBlack hashtag and branded effect from November 10th to 15th. D Smoke, a Black musician, educator, and community advocate, is the voice behind the official #ShopBlack campaign music.
TikTok is dedicated to creating a supportive environment for the Black community and is committed to uplifting and supporting Black voices, businesses, and causes both on the platform and in the surrounding communities. The platform has also made a $500K commitment to the Accion Opportunity Fund to provide relief to Black small business owners affected by COVID-19.
TikTok is thrilled to introduce #ShopBlack and will continue working with the Black community to support and enable the success of Black-owned businesses.
