TikTok Brings Back #BlackVoices Livestream Series
TikTok is excited to announce the return of #BlackVoices, a livestream series hosted by @makayladid. The series features engaging discussions with Black entertainers, leaders, and activists, highlighting the complexity and richness of the Black community.
The new season started with an inspiring conversation with Olympian Gabby Douglas, where she shared her experiences at the Olympics, her motivation, and the importance of being a role model.
Building on the success of the previous season, which was done in collaboration with Essence magazine and featured heartfelt conversations with entertainers and leaders like Laverne Cox, Wisdom Kaye, and Candace Patton, Gabby Douglas brought her knowledge, real-life examples, and humor to TikTok audiences. The livestream attracted nearly 8K concurrent unique viewers and left a positive impact on TikTok users worldwide.
Gabby Douglas expressed her appreciation for TikTok's commitment to creating spaces where important issues can be discussed and celebrated. She emphasized the significance of cultivating diverse voices and communities on the platform.
Every Tuesday at 5pm PT/8pm ET, a different guest will join Makayla for a live chat, addressing important issues affecting the Black community. Future guests will include influential business executives, marketing experts, talented performers, and more.
