Hello TikTok family! We are Marc and Heidi D'Amelio, proud parents of Dixie and Charli, who have gained fame on TikTok. In just seven months, we have witnessed our daughters' incredible journey from dancing in their rooms to performing on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. It's been amazing to see them transition from ordinary school girls to captivating millions of people on TikTok.

Their success is a result of their authenticity, passion, and creativity. They simply did what they loved and people resonated with their enthusiasm. As parents, there is nothing more fulfilling than seeing your children happy and successful. Watching our girls create content that connects with people worldwide has been truly remarkable.

However, we are aware of the challenges and concerns that come with their online presence. The internet can be a harsh place, especially for teenagers. While we want our children to pursue their passions, our utmost priority is their safety and well-being. It is crucial for us, as parents, to understand and monitor their online activities.

We are pleased to know that TikTok is taking concrete actions to prioritize safety for all users and creators. Platforms like TikTok play a significant role in our children's lives, as well as ours. That's why we appreciate the introduction of Family Pairing, which allows parents/guardians to access safety and privacy settings for their children's TikTok accounts. This feature enables control over Direct Message access, Screen Time Management, and Restricted Mode.

We hope that TikTok continues to develop such tools and controls, and we encourage other companies to provide thoughtful resources for families. Ultimately, we want to emphasize that we are all in this together as parents, and we urge everyone to educate themselves on internet safety.
