How Much Did TikTok Pay For 1 Million Views (Creativity Program Beta)
Introduction
I'm sure you guys know by now that TikTok has made the switch so that you need to have a video that is at least one minute long in order for it to qualify for monetization. Since switching to this new program, I've had my first million-view video, and I'm going to share how much I made with that first 1 million views.
So here's the screenshot from my TikTok account. Now, a lot of people fixate on the RPM (revenue per mille), and mine says $ 121, which I know is a little higher than what other people have reported. A lot of people tend to generalize it to about a dollar per thousand views, but it's not always that reliable.
If you were to take the $ 121 and account for it being per thousand views, and my video had a million views at the time of the screenshot, I should have made about $ 1,200. But instead, I only made over $ 800. And it's because it has to be a qualified view. The more traction a video gets, the more people share it, and if people watch your video while it’s shared to them, it doesn't count as a qualified view. It has to appear on that person's "For You Page," and they have to watch it for longer than 5 seconds.
In addition, if someone rewatches the video, it doesn't count as a second view; it's only one view per account. So even though my video had a million views and $ 121 is my RPM, I still only made a little over $ 800. Which, I'm not complaining—it's still great money. It's just that the RPM is not really a reliable way to calculate how much a creator is going to make.
Either way, I hope you join the program and start getting paid through TikTok videos because it is a great side hustle.

FAQ
What is RPM on TikTok? RPM stands for Revenue Per Mille, which means the revenue earned per 1,000 views.
How does TikTok determine a qualified view? A qualified view must appear on a person's For You Page and must be watched for longer than 5 seconds. Shared and re-watched videos do not count as additional qualified views.
Why didn't I make as much money as the RPM suggests? The RPM is not always reliable because it only applies to qualified views. Not all views meet the criteria for being considered "qualified."
What do I need to do to monetize my TikTok videos? Your video needs to be at least one minute long to qualify for TikTok’s monetization program.
