TikTok Fashion Month: Embracing Fall Trends in a Virtual World
For designers and fashion enthusiasts worldwide, September is the month to embrace the latest fall trends. However, this year is different due to the majority of people still being quarantined at home and limiting their social interactions. As a result, brands have had to quickly adapt and find new ways to connect with their customers while also showcasing creative streetwear and runway fashion. This is where TikTok comes in.
TikTok is known for its creativity and joy, and fashion plays a significant role on the platform. To celebrate our community and everything related to style, we have partnered with various fashion companies and creators to launch #TikTokFashionMonth. From now until October 8th, the TikTok community, fashion brands, creators, and celebrities will come together on TikTok to showcase their fashion through a series of hashtags, live streams, and new creative effects.
The fashion industry has already utilized TikTok to bring fashion into the homes of our community during quarantine, redefining what luxury fashion means to culture and society. With the launch of TikTok Fashion Month, our brand partners can further leverage the platform's authentic and community-driven approach to showcase their art, creativity, and personalities in a unique and truly TikTok way. We are thrilled to offer an inclusive and immersive virtual fashion month experience for our community and are excited to see how they engage with each live programming, hashtag challenge, and creative effect.
During TikTok Fashion Month, we will host two live streams per week featuring runway shows by luxury designers such as Saint Laurent, JW Anderson, and Louis Vuitton. Additionally, there will be special events like 'Fashion Essentials' with Wisdom Kaye, 'Get The Look' with Ariam, and a collection reveal by JW Anderson.
The grand finale of #TikTokFashionMonth will be the TikTok Runway Odyssey on October 8th. This exclusive virtual fashion runway live stream, in partnership with PUMA and Alice & Olivia, will feature favorite creators making their runway debuts and the opportunity to shop exclusive capsule collections only available on TikTok. PUMA has collaborated with Black TikTok creators and designers for their collection, with proceeds going to the Equal Justice Initiative. Alice & Olivia co-designed their capsule collection with TikTok, and a portion of the proceeds will go to CFDA.
Throughout the month, our community can engage with various hashtags to join in on the fun. #TikTokFashionMonth is the main hashtag to showcase your best looks and participate in the runway experience. #GetTheLook is for those who want to recreate a look they loved. And #Fashion101 is all about sharing necessary basics, everyday essentials, and tips for color blocking.
As the world continues to adapt to a new normal, we are inspired by the passion and inclusivity of the fashion houses, brands, creators, and celebrities on TikTok. We are excited to bring together this glamorous group of people and brands and invite our community to a front row seat into the future of fashion.
