TikTok's Debut at SXSW

TikTok is making its debut at SXSW for the first time ever. They will be taking the virtual stage alongside brands, musicians, artists, and creators to showcase how TikTok has been influencing trends and culture. The event will include discussions on the impact of TikTok on brands and the music industry.

Driving Culture Through Content

From March 16 to 20, there will be a session on driving culture through content. Sandie Hawkins, US General Manager of Global Business Solutions at TikTok, will be joined by representatives from Arby's, NFL, and Ocean Spray to discuss how their brands are navigating TikTok to make their own stamp on culture.

TikTok Music Curators Roundtable

There will also be a roundtable discussion on TikTok music curators. The panel, moderated by TikTok's Music Editorial lead William Gruger, will include TikTok artists who have successfully built a fan base and found success in their music on the platform.

Think like a Marketer, Act like a Creator

On March 16th, there will be a session on thinking like a marketer and acting like a creator. TikTok's Head of US Business Marketing, Sofia Hernandez, will be joined by representatives from McDonald's, PepsiCo and Gatorade, and HBO Max to explore how TikTok has empowered brands to think outside of the box to grow their businesses.

Going Viral: In Your Dreams

On March 18th, there will be a session on going viral. Global Head of Music Ole Obermann will connect with music icon Mick Fleetwood to discuss music, sustaining a career, and the role of technology in shaping trends and culture.

Homegrown: TikToks for ATX. Storytelling that Drives Commerce and Community

Also on March 18th, there will be a workshop on storytelling. TikTok's Head of SMB and Operations, Rebecca Sawyer, will be joined by Texas-based TikTok creator @lani.baker and Mindy Perry, CMO of Austin-based brand Kendra Scott, to share a framework for approaching storytelling and building compelling creative on TikTok.
