TikTok Partners with (RED) to Raise Awareness for World AIDS Day

TikTok, the leading platform for short-form video, has partnered with the nonprofit organization (RED) to raise awareness for World AIDS Day and support the fight to end AIDS. Through the #MakeItRed campaign, TikTok aims to transform the lives of those most at risk by providing medication and education to vulnerable communities, particularly in sub-Saharan Africa.

As a platform that celebrates equality, TikTok encourages its users to show their support on World AIDS Day 2019 and beyond. By using five red effects provided by TikTok and uploading videos with the hashtag #MakeItRed, users can contribute to the cause. For each video uploaded with these effects and hashtag, TikTok will donate 1to(RED)sfightagainstAIDS,withamaximumdonationof1 to (RED)'s fight against AIDS, with a maximum donation of 500,000.

TikTok believes in the power of its global community to make a difference. By expressing their creativity through videos that capture the joy of everyday moments, TikTok users can help raise awareness about AIDS treatment and support those in need. Bryan Thoensen, a representative from TikTok, emphasizes that every person deserves access to care and that the collaboration with (RED) empowers each user to show their support.

Jennifer Lotito, Chief Operating Officer of (RED), expresses excitement about TikTok's creative community joining the fight to end AIDS through this campaign. She encourages everyone to participate in the #MakeItRed effort and make a real difference where it is most needed.
