Introducing Stitch: A New Editing Feature on TikTok
When you share a video on TikTok, your creativity can have a powerful impact. Your videos can start new trends, inspire others to create their own versions, and even be remixed by others. Today, we are excited to introduce a new editing feature called Stitch, which allows users to clip and integrate scenes from another user's video into their own. Similar to the Duet feature, Stitch is a way for users to add their own interpretation and contribution to another user's content, whether it's a story, tutorial, recipe, or even a math lesson.
Users have the option to decide whether or not others can Stitch their content, just like with Duet. This can be adjusted in the Privacy and Safety settings, where users can enable or disable Stitch for all their videos or toggle it for each individual video. When a video is made using Stitch, the original creator is attributed in the new video's caption, with a direct link to the original clipped video.
We have high expectations for how users will utilize Stitch, but we are also excited to be surprised by the creativity of our TikTok community. The possibilities are endless! To use the new Stitch feature, simply open the TikTok app, find a video you want to Stitch, and click the "Send to" button. Then, select the "Stitch" option and choose up to five seconds from the video. You can trim the clip to your desired duration and record your addition to the Stitched clip. Start stitching together your videos for a more engaging storytelling experience!
Here are some examples of Stitch in action, showcasing collaborations between users and their favorite creators. Join the fun and explore the endless possibilities of Stitch on TikTok!
