TikTok's $250M Pledge to Support Front Line Medical Workers and Local Communities

TikTok has announced a pledge of $250M to support front line medical workers, educators, and local communities deeply affected by the global crisis. This pledge includes various initiatives aimed at providing relief and support.

TikTok Health Heroes Relief Fund

TikTok will provide 150Minfundstosupportmedicalstaffing,supplies,andhardshipreliefforhealthcareworkers.Thesefundswillbefocusedonlocalorganizationstosupportlocalhealthworkers.Forexample,TikTokispartneringwiththeCDCFoundationtodonate150M in funds to support medical staffing, supplies, and hardship relief for health care workers. These funds will be focused on local organizations to support local health workers. For example, TikTok is partnering with the CDC Foundation to donate 15M toward supporting surge staffing for local response efforts.

TikTok Community Relief Fund

TikTok will allocate 40MincashtolocalorganizationsthatservegroupsrepresentativeofTikToksdiverseusercommunities,includingmusicians,artists,nurses,educators,andfamilies.Theywillalsomatch40M in cash to local organizations that serve groups representative of TikTok's diverse user communities, including musicians, artists, nurses, educators, and families. They will also match 10M in donations from the community to further support the community. This fund aims to provide critical relief to vulnerable communities impacted by the health and economic damage caused by this crisis.

TikTok Creative Learning Fund

With millions of students out of school and creative professionals needing to find new ways to connect with people, TikTok will provide $50M in grants to educators, professional experts, and nonprofits. This fund will help spread educational information and useful course material in an accessible, distance learning format.

In addition to these funds, TikTok is also supporting initiatives such as helping small and medium-sized businesses restart and rebuild by providing 100Minadcredits.Theyarecontributing100M in ad credits. They are contributing 25M in prominent in-feed ad space for NGOs, trusted health sources, and local authorities to facilitate public education efforts. TikTok is also focused on supporting the emotional well-being of their community through initiatives like #HappyAtHome.
