Understanding TikTok Analytics: Measure the Impact of Your Videos
TikTok is a platform that encourages creative expression and provides users with the necessary tools to easily create fun and joyful content. This post is part of our TikTok Tutorial Series, where we highlight new and lesser-known features to educate users on how to utilize our creative suite and enhance their content creation.
When you share a video on TikTok, you are inviting the TikTok community into your creative world. Your video has the potential to touch the lives of many people and bring joy not only to the TikTok community but also beyond.
To understand the impact of your videos and measure their reach, we have incorporated TikTok Analytics. To access Analytics, you need to switch to a Pro Account by going to the "Settings and Privacy" page, selecting "Manage My Account," and tapping "Switch to Pro Account." Once you have switched, you can find your analytics on the "Pro Account" page in your settings. On desktop, you can access the Analytics page by hovering over your profile photo in the upper-right corner of the screen and clicking "View Analytics." You can also download and export your Analytics directly to your computer when accessing TikTok from your desktop device.
The Analytics page consists of three sections: Overview, Content, and Followers. The Overview section provides a summary of your account's performance over time, including the total number of video views, followers, and profile views. In the Content section, you can see your videos from the past seven days, arranged from newest to oldest. You can also view the trending videos on your account, which are the top nine videos with the highest growth in view numbers over the past week. The Followers section allows you to track the growth of your audience over time. It provides an overview of the total likes, comments, and shares your videos have received.
Additionally, there are analytics available for each individual video you share. These video analytics provide insights into viewer watch time, total views, average watch time, and other audience traffic information.
When reviewing your analytics, it is important to consider the overall performance of your videos over time. Many factors contribute to how content is recommended in the For You feed, so it is not necessary to focus on a single engagement metric, such as likes or comments, from video to video. Instead, take note of high-level trends in your analytics and observe how audiences engage with your content and account.
Remember that video analytics tell a story, representing the various ways people in the TikTok community engage with your creativity and self-expression. As you continue to post more videos, the numbers, statistics, and graphs in your analytics will paint a picture of the impact you are making and the audience you are reaching every time you share your ideas, creativity, and voice on TikTok.
