Supporting the Performing Arts Community
The performing arts industry has the ability to inspire and entertain us, especially during times when we are unable to attend live performances. Platforms like TikTok have allowed artists to showcase their creativity by performing Broadway dances, acting out scenes from popular shows, and even creating unique performances with their pets. This has brought joy and uplifted spirits during the pandemic.
To support the performing arts community, we are donating $2 million to The Actors Fund COVID-19 Emergency Financial Assistance program. This fund will provide critical financial aid to those in the entertainment industry who are facing immediate financial hardships. The Actors Fund Chairman, Brian Stokes Mitchell, expressed gratitude for TikTok's generous donation, emphasizing the impact it will have on actors, camera people, writers, directors, musicians, dancers, crew members, editors, and others who contribute to the industry.
We recognize the importance of supporting the performing arts industry during these challenging times. This donation is just one of the many steps we are taking to assist communities in need. We are honored to give back to The Actors Fund and express our gratitude to the performers, crew members, writers, and entertainers who connect with their audiences on TikTok. While we eagerly await the return of live performances, we are excited to continue connecting with artists from the comfort of our homes.
