Logitech and TikTok Announce Song Breaker Awards

Logitech, in collaboration with TikTok, has announced the Song Breaker Awards, an award show that recognizes groundbreaking creators who have influenced the music industry and shaped pop culture over the past year. The show will be hosted by TikTok Trailblazer Sienna Mae Gomez and Larray, with a special appearance by two-time GRAMMY® award winner Lil Nas X. Rapper and songwriter 24kGoldn will also perform at the event.

Creators on TikTok have played a significant role in promoting new artists and propelling songs to popularity. In 2020, more than 176 different songs surpassed 1 billion video views as TikTok sounds, with nearly 90 of these songs making it to the Top 100 charts in the U.S. and 15 reaching #1 on a Billboard chart. Over the past year, more than 70 artists who gained popularity on TikTok have received major label deals. Additionally, 20 of the tracks that trended on TikTok have been nominated for a GRAMMY.

The Song Breaker Awards aim to celebrate these creators and their contributions to the success of songs through dance, memes, and challenges on TikTok. Logitech recognizes the power of the creator community and their impact on pop culture.

Lil Nas X, a creative collaborator with Logitech, credits the TikTok community for helping his song "Old Town Road" reach the Billboard Hot 100 chart. TikTok has proven to be a platform for music discovery, allowing emerging artists to connect with new fans and reach larger audiences.

Logitech will honor 14 creators who collectively inspire and influence over 241 million people globally. The nominees include "Originators," who started trends, dances, and challenges; "Amplifiers," popular creators who amplified these challenges to their audiences; and "Artist Breakers," emerging artists whose music gained popularity on TikTok. The winners of the Originator, Amplifier, and Artist Breaker categories, as well as the Breakthrough Award, Groundbreaker Award, and Song Breaker of the Year, will be announced during the show.

The Song Breaker Awards show will be streamed on TikTok on March 13, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. PT, featuring @logitech, @siennamae, and @larrayeeee.
