Bringing Nature Indoors with #NatureAtHome
Spring has arrived, bringing with it the sights and sounds of nature's awakening. However, due to stay-at-home orders and social distancing measures, many people are unable to experience the great outdoors as they usually do during this time of year. To address this, we are introducing #NatureAtHome, a campaign that aims to bring the beauty of nature indoors. Through continuous TikTok LIVE streams, augmented reality (AR) animal effects, and nature-themed content, we hope to inspire and connect people with the natural world.
Whether you are confined indoors or enjoying the outdoors from your back porch, TikTok offers a variety of wildlife content that will brighten your day. Partnering with explore.org, the world's largest live nature network, we are providing nonstop streams showcasing diverse and interesting species from around the world. Unlike standard livestreams, these "zen dens" will run continuously throughout the week, allowing users to tune in whenever they want. You can access these streams from the Discover tab or explore.org's TikTok profile. Some of the animals being streamed include Decorah Eagles, Homosassa Manatees, Underwater Happiness Village Pandas, Tembe Elephant Park, Grace Gorillas, and, if visible, the Northern Lights in the evening.
After spending a day watching adorable pandas on a live stream, we believe it's time to bring nature to life through the use of AR animals. Powered by TikTok's AR technology, this creative effect enables you to add extinct or endangered animals, such as dinosaurs, sea turtles, or monkeys, directly into your videos.
While we continue to prioritize safety and happiness at home, we invite TikTok users to join us in appreciating and connecting with nature through the lens of a lockdown. Let's make the most of this beautiful time of year and find solace in the wonders of the natural world.
