TikTok Celebrates AAPI Heritage Month with Virtual Event

Every May, the U.S. celebrates Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month to acknowledge the significant cultural history and impact of the AAPI community. As AAPI Heritage Month reaches its 30th anniversary, it is important to not only honor the past but also recognize the present achievements and breakthroughs. TikTok has been celebrating AAPI creators by highlighting them under the #AAPIFamily hashtag. To further honor these incredible creators, TikTok is hosting a week-long virtual event starting today.

The AAPI community has brought immense life and creativity to TikTok. From creators like @colewalliser, who finds beauty and magic in everything, to @alanchikinchow, who skillfully conveys drama and humor in mere seconds, to @inmyseams, who shares endless tips and hacks, and to @aureareadykids, whose design inspirations make getting dressed feel special. TikTok is grateful that these creators feel empowered to bring their imagination to life and share their stories.

Our AAPI creators are not only talented individuals but also parents, beauty experts, culinary titans, and comedians. They value engaging in dialogue and learning from each other. To facilitate this, TikTok is inviting 100 creators to a special webinar where they can discuss their journeys, content creation, and the importance of community involvement. This webinar will feature celebrities and creators such as Michelle Phan, Patrick Starrr, Chriselle Lim, Tim Chantarangsu, Nabela, Zahra Hashimee, and more!

TikTok invites everyone to join the AAPI family as they debut a week of live programming that showcases the diversity of experiences and interests within this community. The programming includes feasting on favorite recipes from @Mrs_dee_penda, learning workout tips from recording artist Saweetie, witnessing amazing magic tricks from @seandoesmagic, enjoying music from @88Rising, and engaging in a "Real Talk" discussion with pottery enthusiast @daxnewman769.

TikTok's mission is to inspire creativity and bring joy. They are committed to providing diverse communities with a space to share their unique perspectives. By fostering an inclusive environment, TikTok allows users to explore and create meaningful content that represents them authentically.

TikTok expresses gratitude to their supporters and partners, including @summerfridays, @rastaclat, @milkbar, and @vitalproteins_official, who have generously provided gifts for the creators. They also extend a special thank you to the Asian American and Pacific Islander American community whose presence and passion enrich TikTok every day.
