TikTok for Black Creatives: Supporting and Uplifting Black Creators
TikTok's mission is to bring joy and inspiration to its diverse community of creators. A significant part of this is attributed to the contributions of our Black creators and artists, who have touched the lives of many people worldwide. Without them, TikTok would not be the vibrant and creative community it aspires to be. Black creators on TikTok have been instrumental in driving trends, fostering connections, and introducing innovative forms of entertainment and inspiration. We are committed to continuously uplifting and amplifying their voices.
Today, we are thrilled to announce the launch of 'TikTok for Black Creatives,' a new incubator program designed to invest in and support emerging Black creators and music artists on TikTok. Over the course of three months, this program will nurture and develop 100 talented Black creators and music artists, providing them with opportunities to reach new heights in their careers. The program will include motivational town halls featuring successful Black entrepreneurs and celebrities, community-building forums, and educational events with TikTok executives. Our goal is to further cultivate and expand the flourishing Black creative community on TikTok.
To ensure the success of this program, we have partnered with MACRO, a multiplatform media company founded by CEO Charles D. King, which represents the voices and perspectives of people of color. Together, we have created a grant for a select group of creators and music artists. The funds can be utilized for educational resources, production equipment, and other tools for creative content development. MACRO will also provide guidance in selecting speakers, programming content, and professional and business-building opportunities for creators.
'We are thrilled to partner with TikTok to identify, uplift, and support Black creators. The Black creator community on TikTok is at the forefront of driving culture and sparking trends, and MACRO is proud to help amplify and showcase their immense talent.' - Stacey Walker King, Chief Brand Officer, MACRO
Starting today until January 27, Black TikTok creators who meet the eligibility criteria are invited to apply for the program. Finalists will be announced in February. We are excited to discover and support the next generation of Black TikTok stars - join us on this journey!
