Today’s adventure comes straight from the fishing man cave where I’ve been admiring the Green Goblin and its new upgrades while scrolling through TikTok. Surprisingly, TikTok has a shop feature where you can purchase all kinds of gear, including fishing equipment. We’ve tried Amazon challenges and Teemu app challenges, but never a TikTok Shop Fishing Challenge. That changes today.

The Plan

Our goal is to explore the TikTok Shop in-depth to find as many cool fishing items as possible. Once these items arrive, we’ll head to a lake to test them out against real-life fish.

Shopping on TikTok

I started by browsing various fishing videos and found out that the TikTok Shop is loaded with fishing products. I saw everything from reels and colorful fishing lines to tackle boxes and lures. Here’s a rundown of the items I added to my cart:

The Unboxing and Testing

The Reels

The baitcasting reel indeed looked like a Lambo, but it was gold and colorful, unlike anything I’ve used before. The spinning reel stood out with its wood grain handle.

The Rods

The casting rod seemed decent, but the star was the telescopic rod. Once combined with the spinning reel, it looked highly exotic.

The Tackle Kits

The fishing lure kit impressed with its sliding tray system, while the terminal kit was a masterpiece with its spring-loaded system for quick access to hundreds of items.

Inflatable Boat and Cast Net

While the boat seemed questionable, I decided to try the cast net first. It tangled easily, but it was worth another shot.

The Trip to the Lake

Equipped with new gear, I tested each item:

  • The Radius Line Spooler: Showed design flaws but did spool the reels.
  • Fishing Reels and Rods: Both performed adequately, but the casting rod outshined the telescopic one.
  • Tackle Kits: The hooks were sharp, and the lures worked well.

I even landed several fish, including a notable topwater bite on the frog. The inflatable boat managed to keep me afloat, albeit uncomfortably.

Conclusion
