TikTok Graduation Celebration for Class of 2020

For graduating seniors, the Spring semester is a time to reflect on their achievements, celebrate with friends, and prepare for the next phase of their lives. However, due to COVID-19, the class of 2020 has had to adapt to social distancing measures, resulting in the cancellation of in-person graduations, commencement ceremonies, and parties for everyone's safety. Despite these challenges, TikTok is proud to see seniors and other students connecting with each other remotely. In order to honor their hard work and accomplishments, TikTok is hosting #TikTokGraduation, a special celebration that allows users to commemorate their academic careers.

As part of #TikTokGraduation, there will be nightly livestreams from 5-8pm PT. These livestreams will feature various activities, such as a crash course in adulting and a DIY style guide to help students prepare for graduation night. Additionally, on Saturday, TikTok is partnering with XQ Institute, The LeBron James Family Foundation, and The Entertainment Industry Foundation to bring users a special LIVE stream experience for graduating students. This stream will be simulcasted on multiple networks and will include appearances from notable figures such as the Obamas, Loren Gray, LeBron James, Malala Yousafzai, the Jonas Brothers, Yara Shahidi, H.E.R., Megan Rapinoe, Bad Bunny, Lena Waithe, Pharrell Williams, and Ben Platt. To accommodate viewers from different time zones, there will be two airings of the ceremony, one for the East coast at 5pm PT and another for the West coast at 8pm PT.

After the graduation ceremony, TikTok will host exclusive "Graduation Parties" on the @GraduateTogether TikTok handle. Users can join these parties and dance the night away with special guest appearances, including Dillon Francis. Additionally, creators can share videos of their graduation day using the hashtag #TikTokGraduation and use the new TikTok Graduation creative effect to receive a virtual diploma.
