TikTok recently held its first-ever TikTok #MakeBlackHistory Summit in Los Angeles, bringing together over 100 Black creators for a two-day event filled with community building, inspiration, learning, and fun. The summit featured performances, discussions with celebrities and industry executives, and working sessions focused on career development and personal branding.
TikTok is dedicated to recognizing and supporting the creators who are driving culture and creativity on its platform. The summit honored creators like @shreksdumpster and @king.science, who showcase their vivid imagination and talent. These creators contribute to the TikTok community and inspire the platform to continue innovating and building products that have a lasting impact.
The summit also included insightful speeches and discussions from influential figures like Tyra Banks, Tracee Ellis Ross, Nick Cannon, Tunji Balogun, and Robi Reed. They shared their experiences and emphasized the importance of authenticity, personal reflection, and intentionality in achieving success.
Creators had the opportunity to learn from their peers and industry experts about achieving breakthrough success on TikTok. The importance of determination, consistency, and removing fear were highlighted during these discussions.
The summit concluded with creators sharing their fears, learnings, and goals, receiving support and encouragement from their peers. The gala dinner featured a keynote speech by Terry Crews, who emphasized the power of imagination. The night ended with a special performance by Doja Cat, singing her viral hit "Say So."
The #MakeBlackHistory Creator Summit was a remarkable event that celebrated and supported the thriving Black creator community. TikTok extends its gratitude to the guest speakers, performers, and partners for their contributions. Special thanks to Isabel Quinteros for her role in developing the summit and music programming, and for her understanding of the importance of diversity in creating an inclusive and celebratory event for creators.
