To create the videos, I followed a simple format. I searched for videos showcasing a luxurious lifestyle on TikTok and downloaded one using a TikTok downloader without a watermark. Then, I uploaded the video to Canva and added a black layer with reduced opacity. Finally, I added text on the video saying, "Stop being lazy, start making money. Learn affiliate marketing. Click the link in bio to learn how." I repeated this process for each video I created.

Posting the Videos

I posted the videos on TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube Shorts, using separate links for each platform to track the effectiveness of each source. I also found an affiliate offer on Warrior Plus, choosing the top-performing one based on pulse score. I used Bitly to create different links for YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok to analyze the clicks and traffic.

Results

At the end of each day, I reviewed the results of my experiment:

Day 1:

  • TikTok: The videos received minimal views, ranging from 7 to 171.
  • YouTube: Each video received only a few views.
  • Instagram: The videos performed slightly better, with views ranging from 129 to 237.
  • Bitly: Instagram had the most clicks, while TikTok had zero clicks.

Day 2:

  • TikTok: Views remained low, around 150-170, for each video.

Day 3:

  • TikTok: Views remained stagnant at around 170 for all videos.
  • YouTube: The account was suspended, preventing further engagement.
  • Instagram: Views were not significant, with one video receiving 1.5k views.
  • Bitly: Instagram had the highest clicks, while TikTok had no clicks.

Conclusion

My experience with affiliate marketing on TikTok for seven days was not successful. The videos did not gain significant traction or engage viewers. Additionally, my YouTube account was suspended, leading to a further setback. This experiment highlights the importance of creating original content and providing value to users. Taking existing videos and simply adding text does not resonate well with the audience, and the strategy proved to be ineffective.

As a result, I have decided to discontinue this challenge as it does not bring value to the end-user.
